Lavender
Discovered by Dr. Rene-Maurice Gattefosse when he immersed his badly burned hand into Lavender essential oil, and amazed at how quickly his burn healed with very little scarring, Lavender is indeed an excellent essential oil for healing and soothing the skin. It also promotes sleep, alleviate allergies and sinus problems.
Lavender can be used in place of the following medications:

Lemon

Tea Tree

Eucalyptus
Eucalyptus works well as an expectorant, and helps cleanse your body of toxin, and harmful microorganism. Therefore, it is effective to clear colds and flu, as well as sinus congestion and nasal allergies. Eucalyptus is another must-have in our natural healing Medicine Cabinet.
Note: When using essential oils on babies and children, there are a few things to keep in mind. Do not use essential oils on babies under 3 months old. Peppermint oil should not be used until the age of 6. While it is safe to use Lavender oil topically on children, it may alter hormone levels for young children, thus, using Chamomile is a safer option for young children. When using essential oil topically, they must be diluted with carrier oil.
